The Curtis Foundation Corporation is an historic preservation organization that was founded in 2021 by the late Dr. Enid Curtis Pinkney, a native Miamian and noted South Florida historian and historic preservationist. The Foundation is named in honor of her parents, the late Bishop Henry Curtis of Port Howe, Cat Island, Bahamas and his wife, the late sister Lenora Curtis of Rokers Point, Exuma Bahamas, who were pioneer Miamians. The Foundation is a tax-exempt, 501c3 historic preservation organization that celebrates and preserves Miami’s early history (especially that of African Americans). The Curtis Foundation was specifically created for the purpose of providing job opportunities, education and historic preservation services the community, as well as studies of humanities and charitable deeds to the less fortunate within the community.
